The future of nations, commercial and business organizations, and institutions depends on the kind of leaders and managers involved in building and shaping them. Leader and manager are somewhat misunderstood terms, in my opinion. An individual may display excellent managerial skills, produce consistent positive results, but yet turn out to be a lousy leader. The reverse also can be true. Does it mean that they are incompatible characteristics? Not so. I think the disparity arises as a consequence of the lack of understanding of the two concepts. Once an individual gains a clear understanding of the expectations, it would not take long for him or her to evolve as a leader and manager.
